McMaster Rural Stream
In collaboration with ROMP, Family Medicine Residents can complete a large portion or all of their training at a rural site with the McMaster Rural Stream Program. Funding is provided for off site training.

Collingwood and Stayner
Owen Sound - July 2011
Example of a two year schedule:
Year 1
- 4 months of Family Medicine
2 months of Internal Medicine
2 months of Obstetrics & Gynecology
1 month of Pediatrics
- 1 month Neonatal Care
- 2 months Emergency Medicine
Year 2
- 4 months of Family Medicine
2 months of Community Medicine
2 months of Internal Medicine
1 month of Ambulatory Geriatrics
1 month Selective
- 2 month Elective

University of Toronto Rural Stream
Family Medicine Residents have the opportunity to complete eight months of training
at a rural site. Funding is provided for off site training.
ROMP Communities Available:
Orillia, Port Perry, Orangeville
Example of a two year schedule:
Year 1
- Completed at various Toronto Hospital Sites
Year 2
- Horizontal learning model for 12 months at one the previously mentioned communities.
