WHAT: A travel grant of $500 plus registration fees for medical students and rural
stream residents to attend the 16th Annual SRPC Rural and Remote Medicine
Conference. The dollar amount of each grant will be based on receipts submitted.

WHO: Medical students and rural stream residents from the University of Ottawa, the University of Toronto, the University of Western Ontario, Queen's University, McMaster University and the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.

WHEN: Conference dates are April 17th - 19th, 2008                        

WHERE: The Westin Hotel, Halifax, Nova Scotia

WHY: ROMP is committed to providing medical students and residents with meaningful and educational experiences in rural medicine. As such, ROMP wants to provide you with the opportunity to attend this conference, which will include the choice of over 100 high-quality, interactive, small-group sessions tailored for rural practitioners with hands-on Rural Critical Care modules.

HOW: Interested students and residents will submit a complete application and short essay (~1 pg.) outlining why they want to attend, and agree to provide a report back to their school's rural interest group upon return. A ROMP selection committee will determine which submissions will be awarded ROMP travel/expense grants. Selection criteria will include the application & essay of intent and past activities/contributions and planned future rotations with ROMP. The committee will strive to ensure there is a balance of students and residents from each medical university.
