Looking for a unique educational experience?

ROMP works independently to provide broad learning experiences to medical students and clerks by working with hospitals and communities to match learners with dedicated preceptors in south central Ontario.

"My elective was jam packed with lots of learning and seeing LOTS of patients...  This elective is definitely for those FILLED with energy!"

-U3 McMaster Student

ROMP provides medical students and clerks with administrative support in arranging summer and scheduled electives as well as funded rotations for clerks to participate in a rotation outside of the academic centre.

ROMP Funding

  • Travel and Accommodation Policies
  • ROMP Documents Required for Expense Submission
  • ROMP Distance Calculator

Important – Preceptor availability and funding are limited; please apply for your ROMP rotation as soon as possible.  Ideally, applications should be submitted 6 - 12 months in advance to ensure that the opportunity for funding is available and that the rotation can be arranged within the requested community.   Applications need to be received by the ROMP office no later than four months prior to the rotation's start date.

Credentials and hospital privileges will be secured through ROMP for all rotations, which is why it is important to submit your application and all supporting documents promptly for any rotation within south central Ontario.
